Moon-light (or moon's moon)

This project explores the idea that a body of knowledge can be developed as an artwork. It consists in collecting and eventually exhibiting information about the creation of a near impossible art-object.

The staring point is the research into what would be necessary to create a satellite of the Moon visible from Earth.

For this, it will be necessary to learn about the physics, the engineering and related subjects in order to address questions such as: how large would the object need to be? What would be the best material? Could it be a small array of mirrors reflecting sunlight? If so, how could it be controlled? How could it be placed in the Moon’s orbit? How far from the Moon? How would it look like from Earth? How much would it cost? What would take for its construction? How long would it take to build?

The artwork would be made from interviews with experts in the fields concerned, and displayed as a construction plan: including the science, the timescale, the budget, and all other relevant information.

Conceptually, I believe it is interesting to explore the nature of an artwork, and to use pure knowledge as an artmedium; furthermore, it would also be an opportunity to promote the public awareness of science, and also the public awareness of contemporary art.
